For me, the main couple were completely eclipsed by Mel's baby dramas. I was absolutely appalled when she meets a childless couple who have suffered through SEVEN miscarriages and are considering surrogacy and this gets her thinking. But no, not about helping this poor couple out. No, she signs her and Jack up for surrogacy! Thank goodness Jack had some sense. I didn't think anyone could be more self centred and selfish than Vanessa but we have a winner! Yes she saw the light in the end (but only just!). She has two perfectly good children and almost took a rare adoption option from a childless couple. On this note childbirth did seem to be the main theme in this book!

I have to say that Jack is the guy for me but after reading this book, Aiden is a close second. This is what “did it” for me (spoiler alert) tending Erin’s pathetic garden, giving her a “prom” night and being a perceptive, patient and proactive partner in bed. I don’t think I’ve read a romance novel (and I’ve read a lot) where the guy was as attentive to his partner’s response and willing to go the distance, something she wasn’t used to getting. Way to go Aiden! Usually it’s sparks, can’t get enough of you and everything’s awesome. This book portrayed an astute man who wasn’t willing to give less than she needed and wanted. Loved it!
I love all of The Virgin River Novels. I enjoy the way the characters in all the books are connected either relatives or town residents that you have already met, who find love in Virgin River. Virgin River is a small town that begins to grow when Jack Riodan moves to the town and opens a bar and restaurant. Jack has lots of brothers and friends who visit the town and fall in love with it and find love. In this one his brother leaves the Navy to heal and clear his mind. After reading one book I started to seek out and buy all of the series.
I give this a 3 1/2 stars. I liked the story of Noah and Ellie and their dealings with his past wife. I liked how he was so considerate in his love making and her feelings. Great story about their realtionship.
I have to say this book made me dislike Mel even more. For being a medical nurse and midwife she showed even more of her selfish spoiled feelings. I realize the lost of her uterus in a hysterectomy at her 2nd babys childbirth, but come on now she is a professional telling other women its ok and how to handle their feelings on this all the time. I do not like her nosey meddling in other peoples lives that have nothing to do with medical needs. As you can tell she really gets to me. I think this is good writting to bring out these strong feelings I have. Good going Robyn Carr!
Robyn Carr continues to please her readers with this book in the Virgin River series. Readers will enjoy the unfolding romance between Erin, the responsible attorney, who sacrificed so much when raising her siblings, and Aiden, the rogue doctor who appears suddenly at her cabin in the woods. Readers will fall in love with Aiden and all of his romantic gestues, including the long-overdue prom experience that Erin was never able to experience. Along with that, the reader will enjoy the added thrown in plot of Aiden's ex-wife who is a very cunning and deceptive force to be reckoned with. It is also nice to get a glimpse of other favorite Virgin River characters like Jack and Mel and get an update on what is going on in their lives as well. The ending of the book, including the dramatic delivery of Erin's sister's baby, will entertain you until the final page. Enjoy!
Aiden Riorden meets Erin (Marcies sister from a previous book) and then the excitement starts! Throw in an appearance of his first wife and then the fireworks begin.

Then Maureen and George arrive in the motor home and Luke begins having problems with his mom traveling (living) with George.

Add to that Mel and Jack are having issues and, oh yes, babies are being born.....and you have a lot going on. A great story with a bit of suspense; enough to tie my middle in knots. This was a very good read and I would definitely recommend it.
I love this series. Aiden and Erin’s story had me sobbing at the end. Tears of joy, but also tears of relief. Everything in this heart wrenching book drained me, especially the chapters where babies were popping out. I tell you, for a small town it sure is fertile! Mel and Jack were also a huge part of this beautiful story. Kudos to the author for this 5 Star romance.
This is my first of Carr's books and, unfortunately, the last. I truly appreciate her use of good grammar! The main characters were compelling, but were all but eclipsed lengthy, boringly repetitive recitation of other characters tales. Evidently, some of these others are mainstays...but this is not THEIR story. I do like to see "old friends" appear in a series, and I would love to see new books who pick up beloved characters and families later in their lives with new tales of how they have progressed. Couples getting together is not the only romance!
